TRANQUILITY. MOBILITY. FOCUS.

MASSAGE THERAPY

One of the immediate benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. This occurs because massage prompts the release of endorphins – the brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that produce feelings of wellbeing.

During a massage, levels of stress hormones such as adrenalin, cortisol, and norepinephrine are reduced. Studies indicate that high levels of stress hormones impair the immune system.

Some of the physical benefits of massage and myotherapy include:

  • Reduced muscle tension

  • Improved circulation

  • Stimulation of the lymphatic system

  • Reduction of stress hormones

  • Relaxation

  • Increased joint mobility and flexibility

  • Improved skin tone

  • Improved recovery of soft tissue injuries

  • Heightened mental alertness

  • Reduced anxiety and depression

Types of massages we offer:

Myotherapy – Involves the assessment and treatment of soft tissue pain, injury and dysfunction affecting movement and mobility. Myotherapy is applied to restore and maintain the health and function of the soft tissue structure (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) of the human body

Remedial – The objective assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of the signs, symptoms and causes of biomechanical dysfunction or injury, using specific mobilization techniques, in order to restore normal health and function

Lymphatic Drainage – a gentle whole body treatment which relaxes the nervous system and aids the body’s immune system

Aromatherapy – essential oils made from selected flowers and plants are added to the massage oil for their particular therapeutic properties. For example, the scent of sandalwood is thought to reduce nervous tension

Reflexology – based on the principle that certain parts of the body reflect the whole. Reflex points, which relate to all parts of the body, can be found in the feet, hands, face and ears. These points respond to pressure, stimulating the body’s own natural healing process

Sports – This is an application of massage, not a particular massage technique. The type of technique or treatment applied is dependent on the nature of the stage of training or competition, sports injury or condition and the assessment of the remedial massage therapist. Sport massage is a blend of techniques that aim to enhance the individual athlete.

Prenatal — This therapeutic bodywork focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.

STRETCHING THERAPY

Stretching therapy is an excellent option for those looking to improve their sports performance, decrease joint pain, or simply get a good stretch! The benefits of a professional assisted stretching routine are tremendous.

Stretching therapy benefits include:

  • Improved sports performance

  • Increased range of motion and flexibility

  • Reduced muscle and joint pain

  • Improved posture

  • Reduced stress

  • Decreased risk of injury

THERAPEUTIC CUPPING

Cupping is a safe, traditional treatment that helps resolve chronic muscle tightness and pain faster than massage therapy alone.

Cupping is a type of alternative therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction is thought to improve the flow of energy in the body and facilitate healing the biggest benefit ~ lymphatic flow.

Benefits of cupping include:

  • Increased circulation

  • Improved toxin release

  • Reduced anxiety

  • Reduced congestion, including asthma symptoms

  • Assists in the clearing of colon blockages and aiding in digestion

REIKI ENERGY HEALING

Maybe you’ve heard of reiki but don’t quite know what it is. Maybe you’re considering reiki but aren’t sure whether it’s right for you. Or maybe your doctor has suggested reiki as a form of therapy complementary to your existing medical treatments.

Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, and reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing.

Mikao Usui developed reiki in the early 1900s, deriving the term from the Japanese words rei, meaning “universal,” and ki, which refers to the vital life force energy that flows through all living things. Now, reiki is used all over the world, including in hospitals and hospices, to complement other forms of health treatments.

HYPNOTHERAPY

Hypnotherapy is an adjunctive technique that utilizes hypnosis to aid in the treatment of specific symptoms or health conditions. Hypnotherapy works by inducing a hypnotic state marked by waking awareness that allows people to experience detached external attention and to focus on inner experiences. The initial relaxation element of hypnotherapy starts by dampening down the activity of the frontal cortex. Limiting the effectiveness of this area of the brain, central to attention, planning, and making decisions, increases activity in other areas engaged in filtering and integrating information. During hypnotherapy the client is guided through various methods, including relaxation, visual imagery, creative visualization, hypnosis, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Graphoanalysis and stress reduction processes for the purposes of vocational or avocational self-improvement. Hypnosis is a perfectly safe, relaxing technique that can benefit anyone. It is simply a focused state of awareness.

HYPNOREIKI

Hypno-Reiki can be used in hypnotherapy sessions as well. This combines the power of two ancient healing treatments. The idea is that it gets you into a ready to receive state. When the mind is in a state of hypnosis, the subconscious receives the healing energy easier without resistance. In a traditional Hypnotherapy session we focus on fears, phobias, depression, trauma & more. In a traditional Reiki session you are fully relaxed with minimal to no talking while receiving the Reiki healing energy. But, in Hypno-Reiki we combine both and focus on relaxing and letting go as you are talked through the whole process and receive the Reiki healing energy.

SOUND HEALING

The sounds introduced during the Sound Bath are an invitation into a deeper state of consciousness, an opportunity to unplug from external stimulation and to gain perspective on what’s going on within you. The soothing sounds are believed to heal the body by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for regulating the body’s rest and digest functions. This can help slow down the heart rate, lower blood pressure, and reduce levels of stress hormones in the body.

Sound healing with voice (chanting therapy) can be used in sound healing sessions as well. This involves music and voice are a powerful tool to guide consciousness into higher realms and induce healing. The foundational practice here is to use your own voice while guided to create a stable consistent vibration within your body. By repeatedly toning a sound, your body and mind will automatically begin to relax and become more calm and focused creating a meditative state. Scientific studies have found that chanting mantras can decrease anxiety and depressive symptoms in the human body. Mantras have many psychological benefits. Numerous studies have shown that chanting regularly over time may elicit positive changes in the brain.

BREATHWORK

Breathwork refers to a variety of breathing techniques and exercises that can be used to improve physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual health. During breathwork, you intentionally change your breathing pattern. Many forms of breathwork therapy involve breathing in a conscious and systematic way. Breathwork Practice helps us experience feelings of self-love, gratitude, and joy. It has recently been scientifically proven that breathwork helps us access DMT (dimethyltryptamine) endogenously in the brain creating neuroplastic change. Quite often tears, laughter, unexpected feelings and emotions surface as we move through and release layers of conscious and subconscious programming, patterns, and behaviors.

Emotional freedom technique (EFT) can be used in breathwork sessions as well. EFT uses the energy meridians from traditional acupressure, combined with breathing and a mantra. You simply tap the acupressure points with your fingertips while you breath deeply and give your subconscious a verbal message. People who use this technique believe tapping the body can create a balance in your energy system and treat pain.
